One of the reasons I've hesitated to post pictures of my big Dragon*con painting is that I don't have photos of it finished. I took pictures the night before, when it was almost finished. And I also took the pictures in a dimly lit basement. So.... be warned these are not the final product or good pictures. But lest ragermouse slay me...

this is horrible for showing the colors, but shows the overall layout. still at a bit of a weird angle though.

speaking of weird angles... but this shows some of the colors better.

argh annoying flash, but a little more of a closeup on her face.

I hired a ridiculous goon to pose w/ the picture so you can get a sense of the scale.

this is about 3 ft by 4ft. hopefully will be the centerpiece of my dragoncon display. a lot is riding on this image. more than i have the energy to say here. but hopefully i shall muster it later

joined a challenge @ deviantart hosted by the deviant dominiquefung. basically, do one digital illustration a day - reasonably finished, basically not a sketch but something done. i decided to undertake this for a few reasons. one, i polish things until i absolutely cannot stand to look at them anymore, which makes my work very, very slow. it also keeps me from just messing around and experimenting. i also psych myself out of playing around w/ ideas, convincing myself that i don't have the skill level to do them service, or whatever. so this will hopefully get me to loosen up, put me in the habit of increasing my output, and harden my digital chops which have gotten a bit sloppy.

Day 1. Very rough because I did it in about an hour to have something to submit to join before the deadline.

Day 2. Anthro version of the My Little Pony Glory. Deviantartist katsu is collecting this, so I was able to catch up on my missed Day 2 and join her delicious bandwagon in one go. =)

Day 3. "We Give Birth to Ourselves."

An image that's been in my head for a while. Our adult selves borne from our child selves. I realize that looks like a massive vagina, but it's really just supposed to be a rift in the middle of the child self. A rift that apparently happened to look like a massive vagina.

I rushed to finish this, so it isn't all it could be, but I am still pleased. Learned a lot, and think I will do more colored pencil on board. Was really really fun. This was shown yesterday in Atlanta at a benefit for Cabbagetown (which got pretty effed by the tornadoes). There were MANY glorious pieces there, including one by my own tempest_omouthy who tipped me off to this in the first place. I met many cool new folks, got a LOT of compliments and encouragement about my work, and when I left (fairly early in the evening), someone had all ready bid on my piece. Not a huge amount, but still... feels good that it will go home with someone.

may or may not color this. yes there are tons of mistakes in the inking. i need to accept that i am not an inker. that's why people who are get paid to do it special. but dammit, i want to make those beautiful crisp pictures i grew up on. but i may just never have the chops.

have had this linework lying around for years. decided to use it to get used to marker/colored pencils again, maybe try some more "daring" things that i wouldn't want to do on linework i loved. could have been MORE experimental, could have been MORE successful, but the surprising result is that I now like it tons more.

color progress, though raped by scanner. should i acquire more reasonable employment, a new scanner is on the list!

Both of these are role playing related. The top is an ancient character that has been haunting my art for years. The latter is an older piece, like wayyyy old, but it was all ready pretty bitching for my skill level at the time. I was having a LOT of fun w/ funky exaggerate anatomy, and it was more than a blast to clean things up with the inks and take the quirks a bit further. I cannot get enough of her torso/hip/thigh transition.

actually typed "leg boobies" initially, now THAT'S a thought.

this one is very rough just because i felt like it might be too involved for a "logo." But if you are intrigued, I can pursue it. Actually all of these are pretty rough sketches, so this a prime time to suggest different accessories, features, anything. I have some ideas for more abstract/less illustrative logos that I might work on this weekend.... So let this be a starting point and we can go from there!

Her name is Jenny. Lost the print file for this in a hard drive crash (as with most of my pieces finished in 2007). A real bummer. However, I'm currently watercoloring the original in a similar palette. It's lots of fun.

This is a collection of images I posted last year on my personal journal - works in progress and/or finished pieces that I want to rework. Who would have guessed ... they all remain unfinished!

I am working on the paper version of this, if it turns out, I may abandon this forever.

With this one, I may print out the line art and make some clean inks before continuing...

Right, so, I abandoned this thing and I feel terrible... because some lovely people watch it and I've neglected them! Please, if any of you are still out there, take a gander at my main journal relevantpink and fill out the poll there. Tis the season! I have a few pieces that didn't move at Dragon*con, so I thought I'd throw them out there to see if anyone is interested. Just a note, the color on some of these images is somewhat murky, due to less than ideal scans (many were scanned after they were matted, which doesn't work too well).

$28.00 Skunkgirl, roughly 6"x6".

$16.00 Fox Moon, roughly 4"x5.5"

$16.00 Eponine Twice 4"x6"

$32.00 Vampires roughly 11"x7"

Now, this is a really horrible scan. The picture is large enough to have required being scanned in two parts and composited. There of course isn't that variation in color on the original, and the salt crystals are a nice and uniform color. I really, really love this picture, and am loathe to sell it. So, if you really like it, make me an offer. It is roughly 4.5 inches wide and 14 inches tall. It looks pretty sleek, I've got to say.

All pieces are matted (though not to standard frame sizes) and shipping will be $2.00 (possibly a little more if you purchase more than one, but it won't be more than 3.50). If you like something but can't quite afford it, make me an offer and we'll see what I can do. =)

Of course, I also have prints available of many pieces if that is more your speed. Even if my stuff isn't what you are looking for, consider supporting amateur artists when picking out christmas gifts this year. Most people enjoy art as a present, and there is TONS of talent out there who could really benefit from your patronage!

Okay. First off, in theory I'm going to be updating this every Sunday. I decided this last week, and clearly it did not happen on Sunday. So all ready I'm a big fat fatty liar pants. Moving on.

CD cover I designed for a friend's singing group, KnightSong. Wonderful fun, they even made a cake with my picture on it for the release party! =)

I've narrowed it down to 9 images, but can't decide which two to cut. What do you think (probably boobies or more on the link, though the images are small and tasteful)?

Art On Demand at Dragon*con Store

All the art I had available for "art on demand" prints at dragon*con last year are available for purchase at their store. Keen, huh?

Also, I have a few prints available on Deviant Art. I plan to make more available soon, it's just a really big hassle.

Let me know if you are interested in commissioning me... school is out in a couple of weeks, then I'm going to tackle dwivian's commission, and I'm open to some more.

Now to figure out how much space I want to request at the Dragon*con art show. Any particular kinds of real media pieces (either media type or subject/content) you would be interested in seeing?
